Eleven Little Questions x 2

I was just recently tagged by two lovely ladies {Claire @ Scissors Paper Rock} and {Leanne @ Organising The Three of Us} with a little bit of bloggy love and a Liebster Award.  Thanks ladies for sending this my way.
I was passed on a list of questions from each of them to answer.

    First - Claire's Questions:
  1. One word that best describes you? - Funny
  2. Sweet or Savoury? - Hmmm, this is a hard one.  I guess sweet.  There was a definite need to cut down on sugar in my life and I have just done that exact thing!
  3. Why do you blog? To record moments of our family and to share with family and friends.
  4. What are you reading at the moment? I actually haven't had any time to read a book lately.  But I am still following and enjoying my favourite blogs.
  5. Favourite movie of all time? I don't have just one favourite, but my favourite type of movies are usually romantic comedy and I don't mind a bit of drama thrown in too!
  6. If you were a colour - which one would you be? And why? I guess pink {which is my favourite}.  I am soft soul.
  7. Reality TV - love or loathe? Sadly I love reality TV.  You don't have to think while watching it and I find it entertaining.
  8. Describe a perfect day.  This would be a day out with my little family that includes the beach, a picnic lunch, sunshine, ice-cream, sun kissed skin and an afternoon nap.
  9. Somewhere in the world you're dying to go to? America
  10. Biggest fear? I have a fear of dying.  When some things happen in life you realise that it can be taken from you at any moment and that you have no control.  I have young children and need to be here for them.
  11. Your middle name? Emma.

          Secondly, Leanne's Questions:

1. What is your all-time favourite movie? I answered that one above.

2. Did you finish high school? Yes

3. What was your first job? I worked at a food place in a food court of a shopping centre.

4. Are you a bit of a hoarder, or do you get rid of everything? I am very sentimental so I find I keep alot of things related to our memories (especially for the kids).  But in saying that I am working on getting together a heap of stuff around the house to pass on to others, donate or sell.

5. How many children do you have? We have two children - Nikolas and Mia.

6. Do you have a hobby that you pursue? My favourite hobbies are photography, scrapbooking and craft.

7. How old were you when you got your first mobile phone? 18

8. How often do you see your friends? It really depends on which ones.  It varies a fair bit depending on how busy I am.  But I enjoy catching up with them whenever I can.

9. What 3 words would you use to describe you? I am creative, funny and organised.

10. Coke or Pepsi? I don't drink soft drink unless we go out for lunch or dinner but I would drink both of those.

11. What is your favourite piece of clothing you own? At the moment, jeans and my scarfs.  It is chilly.

Now I am going to pass it on to some other lovely bloggers:

Kate @ Love Kate
Leesa @ Love Tea and Me
Sonia @ Life Love and Hiccups

I have enjoyed reading other bloggers 11 questions, it's great to get to know a little more about them.  I hope you enjoy reading mine x

E is for ................ Engagement!

This post is part of A-Z all about me {weekly blog challange} over at 'Love Kate'!

Today is our anniversary!  Our 15th year anniversary!  We have been together for 15 whole years and that makes me happy!

I was 17 when we first started dating and David was 22.  He was my first true love.  And like anyone we have had our ups and downs over the years.  But as we hit this milestone I am the happiest I have ever been in our relationship.

We got engaged when I was 21.  He proposed to me on the top of Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach on Valentines Day.  And in 2012, we are still engaged.

We had planned to get married back in September 2002 (so we would be 10 years married this year) but for one reason or another we didn't and it suits us just the way it is.

In our time together we have had 2 babies, bought and sold real estate, built a home we love, travelled overseas, planned, dreamed, laughed, cried and loved.  We are happy!

Over the years many of our friend's relationships have broken down and they have been divorced and have re-married.  And even though we may not be married, our relationship feels so strong.

I feel as though I am lucky to have someone that makes it possible for me to be where I need to be while my babies are young.  And as my biggest role in life is to be a mumma, I am so happy that I get to work from home on my own business after years as a stay at home mum.
Whenever I tell David about a new dream or wish, he never ever tells me I am silly.  He supports me.  He does whatever he needs to do to make it happen.  In the last few weeks I told him I wanted to expand my Dreamy Creations product line.  Ever since he has been building late into the night after working really long days on my new products.  This makes my heart happy!

We may spend alot of time wrestling, jumping out from behind walls to scare each other, and laughing our heads off.  But I love seeing the kid's faces when I catch them watching us out of the corner of my eye when we are cuddling or sneaking a kiss.  Their little faces have a smile from ear to ear.  They know we love each other!

Tonight my sister offered to watch the kids while we out to celebrate.  But we decided it wouldn't be the same without them there.  So we will celebrate all together .... just as it should be.

Weekend Adventures

Well another weekend has past by and we are well into another week.  Our weekend was good. As David had to work on Saturday I stayed home most of the day with the kids getting 'stuff' done, until the afternoon when we took the scooters to the park for a ride and had a play.

So when Sunday morning rolled around we were really ready for the family time to begin.
We kept up with tradition and enjoyed a yummy cooked breakfast.  This time banana pancakes were on the menu. They were delish!
Then it was time to get dressed and head off for the day.

First stop the Brisbane Boggo Road Urban Village Markets.

The market is held at the area just outside the former Boggo Road Prison.  It was a maximum security prison back in the day which opened in July 1883 and closed in November 1989.  Recently their has been a multi million refurbishment of the area outside the jail.  However, you can still feel the history of the jail itself.

There is a mix of things at the market from handmade goodies, to seafood, fresh fruit and vegetables, breads, deli items and more.

Nikolas and Mia both had their face painted.

We bought a big box of fruit and vegetables and some delicious muscles, smoked salmon and cheeses.  We also got a couple of sweet little presents for a friend's birthday and Mia had to choose a gorgeous owl cushion for her bed of course.

We then headed into the City for a drive.  It was such a nice change from the Gold Coast.

We wanted to show the kids the Kangaroo Point Cliffs so we sat and just watched for a while.

The kids played while we chatted away sitting in the sun.

We decided the best way to warm up was to all enjoy a coffee at a cafe with the best view in town.

The afternoon was filled with a stop at the shops, a quick lunch at home, a trip out on the boat fishing until sunset, then home for seafood chowder.

Our weekend was full to the brim and it kind of felt like we had competed in some sort of family adventures extreme sports event.  We went to bed early that night, exhausted but happy.
